Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions are supplementary to and do not supersede the Assembly Hall Theatre Terms and Conditions that apply to bookings processed by assemblyhalltheatre.co.uk or Tunbridge Wells Borough Council hereafter referred to as the Council.

  1. General
    1. Nothing in the below terms and conditions are intended to affect your statutory rights.
    2. The Council collects and stores your personal details when it is necessary for your booking in accordance with our Privacy Policy available here (https://tunbridgewells.gov.uk/privacy-and-cookies/service-privacy-notices/privacy-notices/leisure/culture-service) and ensures that the privacy of your personal information is protected in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
    3. The Council requires participants not to disclose any details of the Experience (“BAIT”) directly or indirectly to other members of the public.
  2. Age Restriction:
    1. The Experience is strictly intended for participants aged 16 and above. Proof of age may be required upon entry. No person under the age of 16 will be permitted to attend the Experience.
  3. Health and Safety:
    1. Participants with certain medical conditions, including heart conditions, epilepsy, claustrophobia, or any other condition that may be aggravated by intense physical or sensory experiences, or who are pregnant are advised not to participate.
  4. Participant Conduct:
    1. Participants must follow all instructions given by the actors, staff, and representatives of the Council. Non-adherence to these instructions will result in suspending or ending the Experience and may result in immediate expulsion without a refund.
    2. Participants must not physically touch, harass, or interfere with the actors and must not seek to force, break, or disassemble props or the set. Such actions may result in immediate expulsion without a refund. Participants agree to reimburse the Council for any damages to any objects and installations resulting from their misbehaviour whether wilful or negligent. The Council shall seek reimbursement of its costs from the participant if they have been incurred as a result of such behaviour.
    3. Any disruptive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour towards fellow participants, staff, or actors will not be tolerated and may result in immediate expulsion without a refund.
    4. Participants who appear to be, in the opinion of the Council, under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substances that hinder sound judgement, may be denied entry to the Experience or face immediate expulsion without a refund.
    5. Food and drink may not be brought into the rooms where the Experience takes place. If you have a specific medical condition that would be affected by this requirement, please inform the before the start of your visit so an authorised exception can be considered.
  5. Intensity and Content:
    1. The Experience contains intense and potentially distressing visual, auditory, and sensory elements, including loud noises, darkness, jump scares, and graphic imagery. Actors will manoeuvre within close proximity to participants, but under no circumstances will actors intentionally harm or act inappropriately toward participants.
    2. Participants acknowledge and accept that they may experience fear, anxiety, and distress during the Experience. Any response to these emotions that results in harm to any person or damage to the set may result in immediate expulsion without a refund.
  6. Liability:
    1. Participants assume all risks associated with attending the Experience and agree to release the Council, its employees, contractors, and partners from any liability for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during or as a result of the Experience, other than those required by law.
    2. The Council shall not be held responsible for any physical or emotional distress experienced by participants.
  7. Photography and Recording:
    1. Participants are strictly prohibited from photographing, recording, or capturing in any other medium, any part of the Experience.
    2. The Council may record or photograph portions of the Experience for promotional and marketing purposes. By attending the Experience, participants grant the Council the right to use any photographs, video footage, or other media captured during the event for promotional purposes.
  8. Tickets and Refunds:
    1. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, except at the discretion of the Council.
    2. The Council reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or alter the Experience due to unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, participants will be offered the option to reschedule if possible, or receive a refund.
  9. Personal Belongings:
    1. The Council is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought into the Experience premises.
  10. Severability:
    1. If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
  11. Acceptance:
    1. By purchasing a ticket to attend the Experience, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
